Night Rating
Complete Your Night Rating at Teesside Airport
Join AeroSchool at Teesside International Airport and earn your UK Night Rating in just two evenings. This specially designed course is ideal for visiting pilots, combining professional instruction, modern aircraft, and a clear, efficient schedule.
The course is structured over two nights of training and includes a third night pre-booked in case of weather delays — allowing you to plan your trip confidently with minimal disruption.
What’s included:
• 5 hours of night flight instruction (3 hours dual, 2 hours solo)
• Up to 5 full-stop landings and 15 additional approaches (touch-and-goes)
• Access to AeroSchool’s online night training module, to be completed prior to attendance (either remotely or in our office before the first flight)
• All instructor briefings included
Aircraft options:
Our Teesside base operates a fleet including the Aquila A211, Cessna 150, Cessna 152, Cessna 172, and PA-28 Warrior.
We recommend booking your Night Rating in an aircraft type you’re already familiar with. If you’d like to gain familiarity with a new type—or complete a variable-pitch endorsement to fly the Aquila—you can arrange daytime instruction earlier in the day before your Night Rating course.
To arrange this, please contact ops@aeroschool.com.
Accommodation & travel:
We recommend staying at:
-
Travelodge - Darlington
-
Premier Inn - Morton Park
-
Premier Inn - Darlington Town Centre (Walkable from Darlington Station)
All are within easy reach of Teesside Airport, and AeroSchool can provide transport between your accommodation and the airport or Darlington railway station if required. Many other accommodation options available locally.
Whilst you’re here at Teesside, why not make the most of your visit? Book in for additional hour building or daylight flight instruction between your evening sessions — our team will be happy to help you tailor a productive flying break (contact ops@aeroschool.com).
Although this course is structured for visiting pilots, night flying takes place every evening at Teesside.
Existing AeroSchool students can simply book their Night Rating training directly through their online booking account as normal.

Before setting off to visit us, you’ll speak directly with your instructor to review the upcoming weather. If conditions are deemed unsuitable, we’ll discuss options together and either reschedule your course or provide a full refund of the deposit.
If the course cannot be concluded during your visit, it will normally be rescheduled to the following night.
In the event of sustained poor weather preventing completion, AeroSchool will offer either to reschedule the remaining training at no additional cost or to provide a pro-rata credit for any unused flight time.
Please note that AeroSchool cannot accept responsibility for any accommodation or travel costs incurred as a result of weather delays or rescheduling.
