Head of Training / Chief Flight Instructor (Full-Time)
Teesside International Airport (EGNV)
Applications close 30/04/2026
AeroSchool is an established UK CAA Declared Training Organisation (DTO), delivering in excess of 6,000 training flights per year across multiple bases and operating a fleet of 18 aircraft.
As part of our continued expansion into advanced and commercial training, we are seeking a full-time Head of Training / Chief Flight Instructor based at Teesside.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a busy, revenue-generating operation, combining active flight instruction with responsibility for training standards, instructor oversight, and the ongoing development of the training organisation.
The Role
The successful candidate will take ownership of the day-to-day running of training at Teesside, maintaining high instructional standards while supporting the continued development of the operation.
Responsibilities include:
-
Leading the development and maintenance of training standards
-
Acting as Head of Training in accordance with UK Civil Aviation Authority requirements as the organisation develops
-
Instructor standardisation, mentoring, and oversight
-
Delivering flight instruction (PPL and beyond) within an active flying programme
-
Supporting the development of training programmes, procedures, and systems
-
Maintaining a pragmatic, efficient, and professional training culture
This is not a purely administrative role — the position is embedded within an active flying operation and includes regular instructional flying.
Support Structure
The Head of Training / CFI will be supported by an established administrative function, allowing focus on instructional standards, delivery, and organisational development rather than routine administrative tasks.
You will not be starting from scratch — an existing operational structure, fleet, and student pipeline are already in place.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking an experienced and credible instructor who is comfortable taking ownership of a growing training organisation.
The ideal candidate will have:
-
Significant instructional experience (FI(A))
-
Previous experience within an ATO environment (essential)
-
Strong working knowledge of UK CAA / Part-FCL requirements
-
Experience in instructor standardisation or senior instructional roles
-
The ability to balance compliance with practical, efficient operations
-
A professional, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach
Additional experience such as examiner privileges, CPL/IR instructional exposure, or multi-engine experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
What We Offer
-
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and responsibilities
-
A full-time role within a busy, friendly operation
-
High level of flying activity within a well-utilised training environment
-
A genuine opportunity to shape and develop a growing training organisation
-
Administrative support to enable focus on flying and training standards
-
A modern, well-maintained fleet and structured operating environment
-
Flexible working pattern, aligned with operational requirements
-
A professional, commercially focused organisation with strong daily flying activity
Location
Teesside International Airport (EGNV)
