Applications close 30/04/2026
AeroSchool is an established UK CAA Declared Training Organisation (DTO), delivering in excess of 6,000 training flights per year across multiple bases and operating a fleet of 18 aircraft.
As part of our continued expansion into advanced and commercial training, we are seeking a full-time Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI) to lead the development and delivery of ground school at Teesside.
This is a key role in shaping a modern, practical and commercially focused theoretical knowledge function within a busy and growing training organisation.
The Role
The CTKI will take responsibility for the delivery, standard, and overall performance of theoretical knowledge training across the organisation.
Responsibilities include:

Delivering ATPL theoretical knowledge instruction (classroom and/or structured delivery)
-
Monitoring and driving student progress and performance across all subjects
-
Ensuring compliance with UK Civil Aviation Authority theoretical knowledge requirements
-
Managing and supporting part-time TKIs and subject specialists
-
Maintaining oversight of training records and examination readiness
-
Working closely with the Head of Training / CFI to ensure effective integration of ground and flight training
-
Contributing to the ongoing development and refinement of course delivery
Delivery will be supported by established third-party training materials, providing a structured framework while allowing flexibility in delivery and continuous improvement.
Support Structure
The CTKI will be supported by an administrative function, enabling focus on delivery quality and student outcomes rather than routine administration.
An existing operational structure and student pipeline are already in place.

Opportunity to shape and lead the ground school function
-
Established training demand and consistent student flow
-
Administrative support to enable focus on delivery and standards
